I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START WRITING

I’m sitting in a blogging bog; pressured, stuck, sinking! The irony is I’m a writing coach who helps people write their biographies through workshops and a big, fat workbook.
Back to the blogging... I guess one thing is clear: I really do know what it’s like when you don’t know where to start writing. I’m already on my fourth coffee and I’ve stroked the cat eight times on my way to and from the kitchen.
A list always gets me focused so I’ll start with one.
Are biographies only for the Rich and Famous?
• Haven’t you ever loved and united people?
• Haven’t you been to hell and back?
• Aren’t you talented?
• Haven’t you ever felt euphoric and joyful?
• Aren’t you a hero?
• Haven’t you ever had to pick up the pieces of your broken heart?
• Haven’t you lived life?
• Don’t you matter?
Biographies are not about whether you are rich or famous or what you are; they’re about your unique journey and how you see things. And how you see things will make your biography a priceless masterpiece, and who knows, maybe rich and famous too.
Stay in touch for coaching tips about writing biographies and ask me anything about the subject at this site.
I’m out of that bog now. In fact I’m wired! And the cat’s still purring in the kitchen.
A question about childhood to ponder:
“What were mealtimes like at home?”
Here are some prompts to expand your thoughts:
gravy boat, chairs, tablecloths, grace, guests, manners, conversation, relatives, food, Thanksgiving.
